GL PRODUCTIONS - THUNDER PERFECT MIND

Responsible for one of the best and most refreshing demos I have heard in recent years the 1997 release Crimson Tears a 5 tracker that made Pale Divine into one of the most talented new doom bands that have entered the scene in recent years. Crimson Tears got infamous and is now regarded as a underground classic.,after a second demo and some bassplayer changes the band got in touch with GameTwo Records that first was only going to issue a 7" but it all turned out to a full length album instead why settle for less when you can have the whole package. Pale Divine went into the studio and out came this one Thunder Perfect Mind a 10 tracker that already after the first listen becomes a timeless classic mainly for the tracklist but also the outside inputs such as the production by mastermind Chris Kozlowski and a guest appearance by none other than Mr Doom Metal himself Bobby Liebling the legendary Pentagram frontman whose unique voice have earned him a own place in heavyrock history not only he is doing vocals for a incredible re-make of 20 Buck Spin he also sing the final Dark Knight where Bobby has done the lyrics and Pale Divine is responsible for the musical, its definitely sounding like a Pentagram original but with a more darker passion.

Thunder Perfect Mind is to my ears an excellent record in a lot of ways Pale Divine knows how to deliver the goods a combination of classic doom, the heavy bands from the NWOBHM era along with early bands of acid progessive heavyrock movement the mix of that feels very natural on Thunder Perfect Mind. Also the production gives it a spontaneous boost and the album feels very alive and very moving. Epic Doom metal at its very best and credit to GameTwo for signing such a fantastic band like Pale Divine.
